Spotlight on NSCC

Weekly update - Student Association

Hello Lunenburg Campus

Do you enjoy ice hockey? If so – mark your calendar for this Friday (February 23). Why? It’s the NSCC 27th Annual Winter Classic. This is an eight team ice hockey tournament in Bedford (BMO Centre). NSCC campuses throughout the province meet and each play a series of three great games (each game has three 12 minute periods) with little turnaround. As one of the coaches for the Lunenburg Campus team… the Schooners… it is my pleasure to share with you our roster of players for the 2017-18 entry. Our players represent many programs; and have an array of experience – and a shared passion for hockey! Each player will have a role representing our campus for the three games as we strive to bring the championship trophy to our campus.

We’d absolutely welcome students / staff to still connect with us to possibly play – and – or, to come to the games and cheer. It truly is a fun day; all teams work hard to enjoy this aspect of student life at NSCC.

If you want to cheer… but… can’t make the trip to Bedford… you can watch the games online. Yes – there is a live streaming feed, with awesome play-by-play action and game commentary (brought to life by students in NSCC programing); with some social media feed covering pictures from the day too. The games can be viewed at – Your Schooners will ‘set sail’ for three games…

8:15am versus the Kingstec Crusaders
10:15am versus the COGS Dogs
12:30pm versus the Ivany Sharks (this one is live streamed for us)

Grad Photos
Attention all potential grads! Want to commemorate your amazing achievement with a grad photo? Lifetouch Studios will be on campus Wednesday, February 28th 2018 in room C112 to take student photos.
