At Student Services we strive to be a one stop point of access to a variety of helpful information. Our staff is committed to working with you to ensure that your choice of academic program meets your needs and goals and that your experience at NSCC is a successful one. You can find us on the right side of the main front entrance adjacent to the Learning Centre (Link).

Career Decision Making - Our career specialist, Kathleen Naylor, can take you through a self-exploration process where you can focus on who you are, where you want to go, and how you can get there.

College 101 - College 101 is available to all new students that have been out of school for a while, juggling multiple responsibilities, or anyone who may want to brush up on some essential skills for managing your life as a student. During College 101 we provide advice and information sessions on study skills, stress and time management, communication skills, note-taking skills, test taking skills, and balancing school and personal life.

Let's Get Started - Let's Get Started is an information session offered to all incoming students. At this event, (held in mid to late May each year) you can learn about the college and programs and get answers to many of the questions you may have. We invite significant others, partners, spouses, children, siblings, parents, and friends to join you during the evening sessions.

Tutoring - We offer student to student tutoring as a coordinated service through the Student Association and Student Services. If you are interested in becoming a peer tutor you can find an application at the Student Services reception area. For additional information - Click here

Personal Academic Counselling - A member of the team is always available to talk to you when you are having difficulties adjusting to college life or being successful in your studies.

Scholarships and Bursaries - Up to date information, application forms, and watch boards are available for various student awards and other funding possibilities. You're advised to regularly check the closed circuit monitors on campus, and your student e-mail for information. Click here for additional information

Work Search Assistance - We offer group sessions and information on work search topics such as resume writing, interview skills, work search using the internet, informational interviewing, network, and more. We also maintain job posting boards, an employment website exclusive to only NSCC students, and assistance to employers wanting on-campus placement services.

Information and Referrals - Staff has information on other services and resources in the community that can help you with personal, academic, and life/work concerns.
